Liverpool Open Discussions With Eintracht Frankfurt On Hugo Ekitike

 

Liverpool have pressed on with the ambition of signing Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, and they have reportedly made an official offer for the player. 

The Reds kicked off the bid for the striker after their bid for Newcastle United's top striker, Alexander Isak, failed to yield an outcome. The Merseyside declined the counterparts' offer, demanding £150 million in fees in an attempt to deter the Reds and keep Isak at the club.

As talks are believed to be ongoing between Liverpool and Frankfurt, the Reds are understood to be working towards securing an agreement on personal terms with the player on his transfer. However, Newcastle were also previously linked to the player with a bid of £69 million (€80m), which the German side rejected. Since the Magpies can not meet the demands of their counterparts, they have reportedly withdrawn from the bid.

With the Magpies out of the race, talks are expected to advance quickly between the Reds and Frankfurt. Frankfurt are holding up £83 million as the asking fee, which was what deterred Newcastle. However, there are still speculations that Ruben Amorim's Manchester United are also monitoring the development.
