Patrick Dorgu's Fabulous Volley Leads Manchester United To Boxing Day Victory Against Newcastle

 

Manchester United secured a Boxing Day victory, with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford. 

United regained their winning way after losing their previous Premier League game to Aston Villa (2-1). They had been winless in their two previous games, as had the Magpies, who have been winless in their two previous Premier League games. They drew 2-2 against Chelsea, who they hosted at St. James' Park in their last game. their 

By the way, United's winning lone goal was spectacular. It was Patrick Dorgu's first Premier League goal for the side, and it was such a masterclass set piece. He struck a low-cut volley from inside the box to beat Aaron Ramsdale in the 24th minute. 

Benjamin Sesko also struck a fabulous shot that hit the crossbar. That was the closest United came to doubling the lead in the second half. However, Newcastle had a dominant second half, taking 11 shots compared to the 11 they had in the first half.

Initially, Newcastle could barely hit a shot on target until the second half, when they forced United to defend throughout. Anthony Gordon was the star player for the Magpies, dazzling through United's midfield and causing trouble in front of the goal. 

Nick Woltemade was tightly defended against, and he was replaced. Despite bringing in Wissa and Joelinton, United maintained a sturdy defense. Dorgu was left at the front while other attackers dropped behind to help with defending the lead, as Newcastle made crucial changes to go offensive.
