Liverpool Looks Other way As Newcastle Is Keen On Keeping Alexander Isak

Newcastle United are keen on keeping their centre forward, Alexander Isak, despite interest from Liverpool and their counterparts.

Liverpool have reportedly approached the player but his club's asking price of £150 million is a deterrent for the Premier League champions amid multiple interests from clubs like Arsenal. The Gunners are understood to be looking the other way, making a bid for Sporting Lisbon's Victor Gyokeres, since the Merseyside desires to keep the forward.

Isak played a significant role, leading the side to finish in the top five to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The former Real Sociedad player topped the goalscoring stats for the club in the previous season with 23 goals in the Premier League.

Since the Reds might not see through their bid for Isak, they are also understood to be considering  a move for Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike. Meanwhile, Newcastle were also interested in the forward and had made £70 million bid for Ekitike but the German side declined the bid.

While the Reds seek to reinforce the team's frontline, Darwin Nunez is set to leave Anfield this summer and has reportedly been approached by Napoli. The setback for Nunez's move is, Napoli are considering his fee too costly. However, the player is committed to leave and might consider a move to the Saudi Arabia Pro League.
