Juventus And Paul Pogba Call Off Contract On "Mutual Agreement"
Juventus have finalised on the termination of Paul Pogba's contract with club on "mutual agreement" by the end of the month, as the player is set to return to his career following a doping ban served him.
Pogba had earlier intended to return to Juventus and hope to rekindle his relationship with the club, claiming to have not intended using substances to enhance his performance. Juventus later responded to rumours of his desire to return that they have cut off ties with the player and are not keen on having him back to the club.
The Serie A club confirmed the contract termination in a statement released on Friday that both parties "have reached a mutual agreement for the termination of their contract" on November 30, 2024.
The former Manchester United player was once a pride of Juventus, where he left off to re-join the Red Devils in a then world record signing set at £89.3million in 2016. That spell was unsuccessful for the French player. He later left Old Trafford as a free agent to re-join Juventus in a four-year contract 2022.
"There are moments when things don't go the way we want, but one thing is certain: the bond I have with you, dear fans, will remain unforgettable," Pogba wrote in a statement released via his Instagram handle.
Since his contract will be called off on mutual agreement, effectively, that will make him a free agent and he can now be on the look out for a new adventure from January of 2025.
