Juventus Cut Ties With Paul Pogba Amidst Speculations of Player's Return

In a decisive move, Juventus has officially severed ties with Paul Pogba, ending speculations about his future at the club despite the French midfielder's recent pleas to stay. Juventus, rather, deemed him as surplus to requirements due to financial and technical constraints.

Pogba's tumultuous second stint at Juventus, which began in 2021, has potentially come to an unceremonious end. Injuries and inconsistent form limited him to 21 appearances last season, prompting the Bianconeri to reassess their midfield options.

"Pogba was a great player but we have different plans now," said the club director, Giuntoli. "We've invested on different players and our team is now complete."

Juventus clarified that the decision both on financial and technical considerations and Pogba's substantial wages and diminishing playing time will effectively further constrain the club's finances. Instead, the Italian giants are prioritizing on youth development.

As Pogba seeks a new challenge in 2025, several European powerhouses are likely to vie for his signature. The 30-year-old's impressive résumé, including the 2018 World Cup triumph and standout performances for Manchester United, ensures he remains a coveted asset.

Meanwhile, the speculations surrounding the Frenchman's next destination suggest that European top flight clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona might link up to the player, whose condition meant that he will leave Juventus as a free agent.

Prior to Juventus' decision to let him off, Pogba had said that he "want to prove myself and show that I'm still a top player" with his return. That window might have just been closed as Juventus are not keen on having him back to the team.
