Manchester City Are Premier League Champions For Fourth Successive Time

Manchester City are the champions of the Premier League for the fourth straight seasons as they finished atop the EPL standings with 91 points after defeating West Ham 3-1 with Phil Fodens netting a double, leaving their season-long rivals, Arsenal in the season place.

Though, Arsenal desperately needed not only to win their final game of the season, they needed West Ham to at least to draw against City if not win, and by that, they can be champions on goal forward. Since, David Moyes' men could not beat the defending champions, Arsenal for the second season in a row, finished as runners-up behind City.

Foden seized a sensational individual effort to rattle home a curly shot from Bernardo Silva's assist for an early goal in just two minutes into the game. The English international doubled the lead blasting home Jeremy Doku's pass on first touch inside the penalty area.

West Ham found succour in the later stages of the first half from Mohammed Kudus, who pulled one back with an acrobatic overhead kick in a set piece from Ward-Prowse's corner. Rodri later put the cherry on top for City with the winning goal following a combination of passes from Kevin de Bruyne and then Silva that set him up for the smash of the ball from inside the box that beat Areola to the back of the net.

Erling Haaland, who finished the season with the most goals (27) in the Premier League, was involved in both goals from foden and had moments to extend the goal tally even further but missed them all.

Arsenal did win their against Everton by 2-1 and that would mean they have narrowly missed winning the trophy which has eluded the side since 2003/04. As City won the trophy for the forth time in a row, they have become the first club to make the milestone in English football history.
