Barcelona Relief Club Manager, Xavi Hernandez Of Job
Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has been sacked as the club informed the manager on Monday that his duty with the club after three years spell ends this season.
Though, the former FC Barca player and coach won the La Liga with the team last season, he will be leaving the club that he led to snap its La Liga title drought since 2018/19 after his last game on Sunday, whilst the club is speculated to be considering hiring former Bayern Munich manager, Hansi Flick to repace him.
Barcelona, however, have not openly confirm Flick as their choice replacement for Xavi amidst speculations that the club have reached verbal agreement with the German. The club in a statement via its official website confirmed that their decision regarding the new coach will be announced in coming days.
Xavi on his part has not been distraught by the development, and in his statement vis social media, has expressed his commitment to the club as a former player, coach and also a "fan".
"Above being coach, I am a Barcafan and I always want the best for the club," he wrote in the social media update. "From Sunday, I will be just another culer in the stands."
The side's last game will be against Sevilla on Sunday as they finish the season in second place behind Real Madrid, who are the champions of the 2023/24 La Liga season.
