Wentworth Miller Quits Prison Break

Wentworth Miller has called quits on his role in Prison Break, declining to reprise the role in its sixth installment because he is no longer interested in starring in straight characters.

Fox's plan to kick the production of the sixth season has suffered delay since last year and could be because Miller is unwilling to reprise the role. The actor who declared himself to be a non-straight individual in 2013 explained that stories of straight characters "have been told" over and over already.

In his lengthy statement on Instagram, Miller wrote: "I'm out. Of PB. Officially. Not be of static on social media (although that has centered the issue) I just don't want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told."

Miller starred as Michael Scofield as the lead actor alongside Dominic Purcell as his onscreen brother Lincoln and they both have reprised the role through five straight seasons.

"So. No more Michael. If you were a fan of the show, hoping for additional seasons...I understand this is disappointing," he added. "I'm sorry. If you're hot and bothered bec you fell in love with a fictional straight man played by a real gay one...That's your work."

Meanwhile, the actor's on-screen brother Purcell also voiced out his support for Miller writing in response, "Fully support and understand your reasoning. Glad you have made this decision for you health and your truth."
