Bruno Fernandes Signs To £46 Million Contract With Manchester United


Manchester United have completed a deal signing for Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon after passing his medical with the club.

Talks between United and the Portuguese side for the striker reached an advanced stage and was near completion when he flew in on Wednesday, eventually, both sides sealed a transfer fee of £46 million (€55m) which is set to rise by £8.4 million provided they made Champions League appearances.

Barcelona were also in the race to signing the player but were beaten by United after reaching an agreement to deal terms with Lisbon on Tuesday. With Marcus Rashford ruled out for back injury, Fernandes stands the chance to filling the gaps and getting game time while the English forward recovers from injury.

Speaking to Sporting TV on his move to Premier League, the 25-year-old expressed his experiences at the club which pointed out are both "positive and negative", nevertheless, he would also remember the side of his spell at the club he has made a lot of contributions to.

"I want people to remember me for the positives and I will always remember Sporting for the positives," he said. "The fans, the people who worked with me, the players, everything. Me and my family were always well-received, we had lots of kinds from everyone, nothing was ever missing."
