Paul McCartney's "Egypt Station" Overtakes Eminem's "Kamikaze" For Number One Spot On Billboard Album Chart
For 38 years, the top spot of United States' album chart has been a dream spot for former Beatles member Paul McCartney until he dropped his 18th solo album "Egypt Station" on Septmeber 7th.
The 76-year-old overtook rapper Eminem's latest album "Kamikaze" for the number one spot on Billboard album chart after recording 153,000 equivalent album sales in its debut week, plus traditional sale of 147,000 copies.
In a tweet, the knighted British singer praised his fans and crew for their "fabulous" effort contributed to make his album number one in the United States
Last time McCartney reached number one spot was with his 1982's solo album "Big Of War" which was his seventh solo album to make the feat.
Rapper EM's album "Kamikaze" dropped to number two and is followed in third place by a Christian album "Look Up Child" by Lauren Diagle.
Drake's "Scorpion" which dominated the top spot for more than two weekends before Travis Scott's "Astroworld" knocked it down, is now in fifth place behind Russ' album "Zoo".
