Novak Djokovic Wins In Rally Against Alexander Zverev, Reaches China Open Semi-final

Novak Djokovic extended his China Open winning streak to 32-0, defeating Alexander Zverev in an intriguing match to reach the semi-final. 

The six-time titlist rallied from one set down to outlast the German in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, converting a break-point advantage to score a match point in the third set. Similarly, in the second set, he leveled 1-1, converted his first break-point advantage at 4-4 to set up a decider. 

Zverev, the top-seeded player, started with a blistering performance, converting a break advantage to take a set lead. Djokovic used drop shots to check the German's forehands. Eventually, he gained control and won the match. 

In a previous event, Zverev won his first Grand Slam at the US Open in New York and his second Grand Slam final of the season. Meanwhile, Djokovic made his only final appearance of the season since his last at the Australian Open in January. He reached the Wimbledon semi-final, losing to Jannik Sinner in three sets.

Djokovic will face Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final. The Russian defeated Argentine player Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets, 7-6(4), 6-3, to reach the Last four.  In a separate match, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Canadian opponent Denis Shapovalov in straight sets and will face his countryman Jaune Munar in the semi-final.
