Bournemouth Maintain Unbeaten Run After Beating AC Milan

Bournemouth claimed a big win against AC Milan, defeating the Italians 3-0 in their UEFA Europa game at Vitaloty Stadium, with two goals scored from penalties in the first half.

Ahead of the match, Milan were unbeaten in four previous games across all competitions. They won their previous UEFA Europa game against RB Salzburg after losing the opening game against Benfica. To their disappointment, they play one-man down for nearly throughout the game against Bournemouth after Mike Maignan's dismissal.

Bournemouth had a great start, taking the lead in the eighth minute after a needless handball from Koni de Winter inside the penalty area. Kluivert converted the spot-kick and gave Bournemouth the lead.

Midway through the first half, Maignan committed a foul, sticking his hands on Adam's face. He was dismissed and a penalty was given to Bournemouth. Tavernier converted the penalty, giving Bournemouth the lead by 2-0 in the 32nd minute.

Late into the second half, Adli scored the third with a brilliant finish from a free-kick. Ben Gannon-Doak drew a free-kick for Bournemouth from Adrien Rabiot's tackle in from of the box. Adli stepped in and curled the 25yard free-kick into the top right corner.

Bournemouth remain unbeaten in straight three UEFA Europa League matches and are third with none points in the table. Ruben Amorim's Milan have only won a game in the competition: they lost 2-0 in the opening game against Benfica.

Overview

To a great extent, Milan was demoralised after Maignan's red card. The first penalty was avoidable. The ball was not goal-bound when de Winter got his hand to it. They even became too physical in the second half and were forced to the back foot throughout. Nevertheless, Bournemouth dominated the game and Adli's goal was incredibly brilliant.
