Mikel Arteta Sets to Extend Contract With Arsenal

As Mikel Arteta's contract with Arsenal enters its final season, reportedly he is understood to have agreed to extend the contract with the club.  

Arsenal are currently having a stellar performance in the Premier League, conceding their first defeat to Brighton over the weekend. They had maintained a sic-game winning run across all competitions since the season began. Meanwhile, Arteta has until next summer remaining in the current contract. 

It is believed that contract will last until 2030, including an increase in wages. His current contract is a three contract, lasting until th3 summer of the 2026/27 season. 

Arteta led the club to win the Premier League for the first time since 2003/2004, which Arsenal won under former head coach, Arsenal Wenger. Currently, Arsenal's biggest achievement under Arteta is winning the Premier League title. Furthermore, last season, he led Arsenal to its second appearance in the UEFA Champions League final, which they lost on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain. 

The Spaniard manager finished the 2025/26 season with a double, after beating Mancheter City to lift the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium, making it his third with the club. Arteta joined the club, replacing Unai Emery in 2019, winning the FA Cup in his debut season.
