Kimi Antonelli Leads Madrid GP Practices

Mercedes dominated the practice sessions in the Madrid Grand Prix with George Russell and Kimi Antonelli leading both sessions, respectively.

George dominated the first practice while Antonelli led the second. The F1 Championship leaders had a mishap at Turn 11, slightly running off track, but avoided crashing into the wall. The situation was different for Antonelli in the second practice.

The Ferrari duo finished behind Mercedes in the first practice, with Lewis Hamilton suffering a setback at Turn 17. In FP2, the former F1 champion had the same issue at Turn 17, narrowly running into the wall.

In the first practice, Yuki Tsunoda also went through the same situation at Turn 17 and retired. Oscar Piastri also had an eventful race in FP1. The Australian complained to the team of a splinter hanging off his wheel and was retired from the race.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc maintained his position behind the Mercedes duo in FP2, while Arvid Lindblad lost control and crashed out in FP2, and a red flag was deployed. Leclerc and Hamilton improved as Russell dropped behind the front row.
