Esteban Ocon To Leave Team

 

F1 Haas team and Esteban Ocon have agreed to split at the end of the season after months of speculation over the driver's future at the team. 

Last weekend, at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ocon delivered his best performance of the season in Baku, finishing eighth ahead of his teammate Oliver Bearman. He currently trails in 16th position in the F1 drivers' standings with seven points. 

Confirming Ocon's impending exit, Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu praised the driver for his input in developing the team's VF-26. He said: "I'd like to thank Esteban for everything he's contributed to the team since joining us in 2025." 

Previously, Ocon raced for Alpine, where he won his F1 maiden Grand Prix in Melbourne, Australia, in 2021. He delivered an impressive performance, finishing eleventh with 74 points. Nonetheless, his performance at Haas went south as Bearman led the team's F1 drivers in 2025, and currently, leads Ocon with 14 points. 

"I leave this project with my head held high and proud of my performances in what were not always the easiest of circumstances for various reasons and factors outside of my control," said Ocon in a statement. "My immediate focus is the next race weekend."

At the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix, Ocon delivered best performance ubtil now for Haas, finishing fifth behind Kimi Antonelli. No replacement has been announced for the Frenchman. There are speculations that the team is considering a sought-after F2 driver, Camara.
