Yan Diomande Completes Transfer To Real Madrid

 

Yan Diomande has officially been confirmed to have completed his transfer from RB Leipzig to Real Madrid. 

Earlier, Real Madrid revealed it has agreed a deal in principle with the player in a bid to edge Paris Saint-Germain out of the race. The Ligue 1 side had first been linked to the Ivorian player. The five-year contract is understood to be worth €125 million (£100m) plus €15 million. 

"I am incredibly grateful to RB Leipzig. The club and its management believed in me a year ago, even though I had only played a few professional matches," said Diomande. 

Diomande had only joined RB Leipzig last summer on a contract that ran until 2030. In his debut season, he soon became a sought-after player following his performance with 13 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Besides PSG, Liverpool was also linked to the player, but the Reds could not meet Red Bull's demand. The Bundesliga club rejected Liverpool's initial offer of £85 million. Amidst the negotiations, Real Madrid waded in and secured an agreement with the player.
