Savinho Leaves Manchester City, Omar Marmoush Set to Join Player At Tottenham
Savinho has completed his transfer to Tottenham, as Manchester City are set to release Omar Marmoush to the London-based club, and talks are ongoing between the clubs.
Tottenham have long been after the Brazilian forward to bolster the team following their sluggish performance last season. City were not keen on Savio, allowing Spurs to go after their target. Meanwhile, after moving to Etihad Stadium in 2024, a season later, he extended the previous contract until 2031
Savio's contract at Spurs is worth £85 million, including add-ons. After completing his transfer, he spoke about his long-term desire to play for the club, which he has often discussed with his agents.
"I've always talked to my representatives about the club," said Savinho. "When he said the club was interested in me, I was very happy."
In a separate development, Marmoush is also set to join his former teammate at Spurs, and the Egyptian forward has verbally agreed to join the club. However, his transfer is understood to be on loan with an option for a permanent contract if he meets certain conditions.
Under Enzo Maresca, Manchester City have made a series of changes with the transfer of some key players. Rodri left to join Barcelona, and Bernardo Silva joined Real Madrid. Nico Gonzalez is also set to join Newcastle United, with a deal already agreed with Manchester City.
