Rafael Leao Closes On Move To Galatasaray
Rafael Leao is on the way out of AC Milan following an agreement in principle between the player and Galatasaray on his transfer to the Turkish Super Lig.
The agreement put Galatasaray on course to sign the player, despite interest from Aston Villa, which was understood to have been linked with Leao in a bid to sway his decision. Villa's manager Unai Emery was understood to have contacted the winger.
Milan have reportedly received an offer worth €45 million with add-ons of €2 million. The move is reportedly expected to be finalised soon as confirmed by the player.
"The moment has come to say goodbye. I would've preferred a different salute, to say godbyeon the field once again," said Leao speaking to Sky Sports. "When you win trophies, these are things that stay with you."
Leao, 27, joined Milan from Lille for €35 million in 2019, He enjoyed a spectacular spell at San Siro where he made his UEFA Champions League debut in 2022, and in the same season, won the Serie A title. He scored a hat-trick in the season-ending game against Sassuolo, helping Milan to win the title for the first time in eleven years.
