Lando Norris Wins Dutch Grand Prix For Back-to-Back Race Win

Lando Norris claimed the Dutch Grand Prix victory, marking his second consecutive win of the season, as Max Verstappen crashed out in a race that witnessed multiple virtual safety cars. 

The F1 defending champion started from pole after winning the qualifying session. He held off the battle for the front row from Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton to finish fastest in 2:04:44.859s. Meanwhile, the home favorite, Verstappen, saw his race end on Lap one when he crashed into the barrier.  

Hamilton was edged out of podium position by George Russell, despite pitting for fresh tyres after Esteban Ocon DNF and a virtual safety car was deployed. Earlier on Lap 53, he lost the provisional pole to Norris, who overtook Antonelli and him to reclaim the front row. 

The seven-time champion was not pleased with his performance, blaming it on the team for holding him behind Charles Leclerc a little longer. He finished ahead of his teammate in fourth but believed the seconds wasted cost him a great deal. 

"Today I lost several seconds behind Charles, which I think ultimately could have made the difference in the end," Hamilton recalled. 

Norris won the Dutch Grand Prix for the first time in 2024. Last season, he retired from the race due to an engine failure, leaving his teammate, Oscar Piastri, to win.
