Fenerbahce Hit Roadblock With AC Milan On Deal For Rafael Leao

Fenerbahce may have to look elsewhere after their pursuit of Rafael Leao fell flat following AC Milan's rejection of their offer to sign the winger.

Leao has been strongly linked to the Turkish side, who offered a loan deal with a buyout option. The offer did not go down well with Milan, and by the way, Leao is not keen on the transfer. Fenerbahce have seen their initial offer turned down by Milan, even though Galatasaray and Besiktas are also understood to be monitoring the situation.

As for Milan, they wanted a permanent contract for the player and an offer of £50 million. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce have found the price too costly for Leao and their loan offer is unacceptable to Milan. Instead, they are understood to be considering pursuing another suitor from Crystal Palace.

Fenerbahce are now on the lookout for Ismaila Sarr. However, they reportedly have second thoughts about Leao and potentially making a second bid. Leao has until 2028 in his current contract, and it has not been extended.

While it might be that Leao is over with, and Sarr might make the move as talks are ongoing between the two parties, unlike his counterpart, Leao. Meanwhile, Milan are not keen on settling for less on Leao, nor is Leao keen on joining Fenerbahce.
