Arsenal Wade In On Joao Pedro As Chelsea Are Committed To Keep Striker

 

Arsenal have waded in on the race to sign Joao Pedro, despite Chelsea's negotiations with the player to extend his contract ahead of the 2026/27 season. 

Chelsea are bolstering the frontline ahead of the new season and have just completed the signing of Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion on a two-year contract. Also, Mykhaylo Mudryk will return to the team after his drug ban was rescinded.

Arsenal are also considering revamping the frontline and need to replace Leandro Trossard, who left Emirates Stadium to join Besiktas this summer. They are speculated to be linked to Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr, but the move does not seem as one that will materialise. Nonetheless, they are reportedly linked to Pedro and ready to offer him a deal worth €100 million, according to Football Transfers. 

Meanwhile, Chelsea appeared to be ahead of the race. The Blues are understood to have secured a verbal agreement with Pedro on a long-term contract that will last until 2033.
