Arsenal Unvieled Bruno Guimeraes After Completing Transfer From Newcastle
Bruno Guimaraes has completed his transfer from Newcastle United to Arsenal in a four-year deal worth £75 million with an option for a one-season extension.
The Brazilian midfielder had a successful spell at the Magpies, which he joined in 2022. He led the side to win its first domestic trophy since 1955, defeating Liverpool in the EFL Carabao Cup final in 2025. However, his outing with Brazil at the 2016 FIFA World Cup was unsuccessful as the team was eliminated in the Round of 16.
"I'm at the point of my life, I think I need a challenge," said Guimaraes on his reason for choosing to join Arsenal. "I want to win trophies, I want to make history, and I think I'm in the right place."
Arsenal snapped their Premier League title drought this season, winning the silverware for the first time in 22 years. It was the Gunners' 14th Premier League title after missing out twice, finishing as runners-up behind Manchester City in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.
