Alex Albon Extends Contract With Williams

 

After a month-long hiatus from Formula One races, Alex Albon will return to the grid on a new contract, extending his stay with Williams by one season. 

Albon has been with the racing team since 2022 and has never clinched a pole or won a race in Formula One. His best performance this season was in Monaco, where he finished eighth. Two weekends before, he finished in the top 10 with his teammate Carlos Sainz, who finished ahead of him in P9. 

"One tough year doesn't tell the full picture," said Albon. "Our story is not over yet, so my full focus now is on doing whatever it takes to get us back up the grid." 

In the last five seasons, Williams had their best performance in 025, finishing fifth in the constructors' standings. Both Albon and Sainz made the top 10 of the drivers' standings, with the former finishing eighth (73 pts) and Sainz finishing ninth (64 pts).
