Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner Wins Second Wimbledon Title In Thrilling Final Against Alexander Zverev

Jannik Sinner is the men's singles Wimbledon champion for the second time, making him the first Italian player to win the tournament back-to-back.

It was a tensely contested final against Alexander Zverev, who was making his maiden final appearance and his second consecutive final since winning his first Grand Slam title at the French Open a month ago. He lost the final in four sets, but Jannik had to rally from losing the opening set to win, 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4.

Jannik was meeting the German for the fifth time and the second time in a final this season since the Madrid Open. Zverev snapped the Italian's unbeaten streak through 15 sets in the tournament, winning the first tie-break of the opening set. The German was trying to rally at 6-6 4/1 at the tie-break of the second before Jannik won three consecutive set points to level, 1-1.

"He's still the best player in the world," Zverev confessed in an after-match interview. "I think I've challenged him today. Not enough, because I still sit having lost the match."

Zverev was visibly frustrated in the eighth game of the third set, when he conceded the first break point advantage. Jannik broke for the second time in the fourth, snapping Zverev's rally at 15/30 by winning three consecutive championship points to lift the trophy.

Jannik won his maiden Wimbledon title in 2025, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final. He became the ninth player  ever to have defended the Wimbledon title in the Open Era.
