Anthony Joshua Returns To Ring, Knockout Kristian Prenga

Anthony Joshua returned to the ring to claim a round-two knockout victory over Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Both fighters had incredible records ahead of their challenge, with Joshua having the most knockouts, with 25 KOs in 28 fights. The former heavyweight champions defied two knockdowns in the first round before delivering a decisive right hook that sent Prenga to the floor. Despite the defeat, the fight could be said to be split in two, with Prenga having the better of the first round.

Last December, Joshua narrowly escaped a ghastly car accident on his visit to his home country, Nigeria. His close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Latz' Ayodele, lost their lives in the incident. In his comeback to the boxing ring, his ultimate target is taking on Tyson Fury. The negotiations for the fight are in advanced stages, but Fury's team is still considering the venue of choice to host the fight.

"It's more than punch power," said AJ, recalling the incident involving him and his two friends. "That was spirit, that was Latz, that was Sina, that was the families. It hurts to even talk about it. It has been tough.

Prenga did not do poorly in the fight. He knocked down AJ inside 20 seconds of the first round. On the second occasion he floored AJ, he shoved him off after he was held by AJ. Ahead of the bout, Prenga held a record 20 knockouts in 20 fights. AJ became the first fighter to beat Prenga after 20 KOs streak.
