George Russell Edges Ferrari To Pole In Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying

George Russell will start the Austrian Grand Prix in pole, after edging the Ferrari duo, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton to finish fastest in the qualifying session.

Russell snatched the pole for Mercedes following Max Verstappen's late incident in Q3. Initially, the Mercedes was under investigation for a double yellow flag infringement. The FIA later lifted  infringement with no further investigation.

Verstappen was doing his late run in Q3 when he crashed into the barrier, losing out on setting the fastest time to clinch the pole. Russell, who was running last, pipped Leclerc who was in provisional pole to finish fastest in 1:06.113 seconds.
