Barcelona Beat Real Madrid In El Clasico To Lift 2025/26 La Liga Season Title

Barcelona are officially the La Liga champions for the 29th time after finishing at the top of the table with 91 points, defeating Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico at Nou Camp.

With three matches remaining before the season closes, Barcelona secured the title with a 14-point lead at the top of the table. Winning the season's trophy meant Barcelona defended the title back-to-back after Real Madrid won it two seasons ago.

The match was tense and tightly contested, even though it would not change Barcelona's fate of lifting the trophy should it end either way. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring from a free-kick before Ferran Torres doubled the lead nine minutes later in the first half.

Jude Bellingham tried to pull one goal back for Real Madrid, but the effort was ruled offside. Vinicius and Goncalo Garcia also came close to scoring but were unable to finish off the chances.

In five seasons, Barcelona have won the La Liga three times while Real Madrid have won it twice. Marcus Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United, joined Barcelona to lift the La Liga trophy for the first time.
