Nottingham Forest Beat Porto To ReachHistoric UEFA Europa League Semifinal

Nottingham Forest have reached a historic UEFA Europa semifinal after winning 1-0 in the second leg of the quarter-final against Porto, securing an aggregate score of 2-1.

The victory was a milestone achievement forNottingham  Forest, who had not reached a European competition semifinal since 1983/84. The Premier League side had drawn 1-1 in the first-leg tie. Thus, securing a lone-goal victory was just enough.

Porto made the game difficult for themselves when Jan Bednarek's tackle on Chris Wood earned him a red card. Forest seized the advantage four minutes later, taking the lead from Morgan Gibbs-White's strike.

The goal tally stayed the same throughout. However, the Premier League side had a handful of chances to widen the lead, particularly Igor Jesus' effort that clipped the woodwork. They will progress to the semi-finals to face their Premier League counterparts, Aston Villa.
