Jannik Sinner Outperforms Carlos Alcaraz To Win Maiden Title in Monte-Carlo

Jannik Sinner is the winner of the Monte-Carlo Masters 1,000 and his maiden title in the principality after defeating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6{5}, 6-3, in the blockbuster final. 

Alcaraz was defending the title in his second final appearance in Monte-Carlo on his quest for his first Masters 1,000 title since the Cincinnati Masters - the last time the duo met in a Masters 1,000 event. He started impressively, leading by two games to love before the Italian won a break in the third game of the opening set, holding on to win in two sets. 

Winning the trophy did not come easily for Jannik, and Alcaraz was not backing down. Jannik kept his forehand groundstrokes deep down the baseline, avoiding Alcaraz's drop shots. The Spaniard deployed drop shots a couple of times, and Jannik quickly caught up with him.s Both players are known for their strong forehands. 

The first-time titlist, Jannik, extended his set-winning streak to 44-1 after defeating the reigning champion, Carlos Alcaraz, in the final. He has now increased his career title streak to 14, including 8 Masters 1,000 trophies. 

Having won the championship, Jannik reclaimed the number one world ranking from Carlos Alcaraz. He overtook the Spaniard after winning his maiden Monte-Carlo Masters 1,000 trophy. He now holds the record for the longest set-winning streak in the Masters 1,000 events with a 37-unbeaten set run. 

Also, the Italian champion, Jannik, became the first men's player to win all three first Masters 1,000 finals in a single season since 2015, when Novak Djokovic set the record. He won his first at the Indian Wells, followed by the Miami Open and the Monte-Carlo Masters.
