Bayern Munich Showing Interest In Newcastle Striker
Anthony Gordon is set for a big move outside of the Premier League, and Bayern Munich are keeping a close tab on the England striker for his transfer from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle had just lost one of their leading strikers, Alexander Isak, to Liverpool last summer. Despite Gordon's contract running until 2030, Munich are keen on the player, and they are reportedly ready to splash £55 million on his transfer.
Gordon leaving Newcastle might not leave that big a void in the team, as Nick Woltemade and Joelington can be his replacements. However, in Munich, the striker might have to contend for space with Luis Diaz, playing from the left wing, or with Harry Kane, playing in centre forward.
The need to sign Gordon might not have been necessary if the Bundesliga club were still interested in keeping Nicolas Jackson. The striker joined the side on a season-long loan from Chelsea last summer. Linking up with Gordon might see Jackson returning to Chelsea at the end of the season, unless the German hosts trigger the permanent deal option in the contract.
Gordon, however, joined the Magpies in 2023 from Everton and has since been instrumental to many of the team's successes. including their 2025/26 UEFA Champions League appearance.
