Tottenham Hold Liverpool To Draw At Anfield

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur played out a thrilling 1-1 draw at Anfield, with Dominik Szoboszlai's first-half free kick cancelled out by a Richarlison equalizer late on.

Tottenham have been winless in their previous 11 Premier League games, dropping to 16th place, with just one place from the relegation zone. Having to lose would spell doom for the Spurs compared to the Reds, who are racing to finish the season in the top four.

The hosts started brightly, with Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch causing problems for the Spurs' defense. Eventually, it was Szoboszlai who broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, curling a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner from a free kick. The game lasted until the stoppage time before Richarlison finished off an assist from Randal Kolo Muani's assist.

However, Tottenham's best chance of the first half fell to Richarlison, who headed the ball just wide from Mathys Tel's cross. The Brazilian forward was involved in several other attacks, but Alisson Becker was equal to everything the Spurs threw at him.

The second half was a more even affair, with both teams creating chances. Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who replaced Jeremie Frimpong, was a constant threat, but his shots were either blocked or saved. Tottenham's Xavi Simons, who replaced Souza, also caused problems, but his shots lacked the necessary precision.
