Manchester United Outclass Crystal Palace At Old Trafford

Manchester United remained a formidable side under Michael Carrick, extending their unbeaten run by defeating Crystal Palace in a comeback by 2-1 at Old Trafford Stadium

United continued to enjoy superlative performance since the start of the year, beating every top-flight team they have encountered. They have only lost to Brighton, leading to their elimination from the FA Cup. However, today's match was another impressive one as they seized the second half to override Crystal Palace.

Maxence Lacroix set the game on course, scoring the opening goal for Palace in the fourth minute. Lacroix nodded in a flicker from Brennan Johnson inside the box, following a corner.  Early into the second half, Lacroix was red-carded for a foul on Hugo Ekitike inside the box, dropping Palace to 10 men in the 56th minute.

Bruno Fernández converted the penalty and restored level terms. Minutes later, United took the lead with a superb assist from the Portuguese midfielder. Fernández delivered a cross into Palace's box, and Benjamin Sesko headed the ball into the net.

The victory extended Manchester United's unbeaten run to 11 consecutive games in the Premier League, promoting them to third place on equal points with their closest rivals, Aston Villa.

Overview

Manchester United delivered a great performance, with Fernández prominent throughout the game. Palace also had their goalkeeper, Henderson, to applaud for a couple of great saves he made.

The hosts were the better side for most parts of the game. Ekitike was a problem for the opponents until he was replaced, and Amad Diallo kept the wings running. The Ivorian has established himself as an integral part of the team.
