How Did Nottingham Forest Deal Blow To Manchester City At Etihad Stadium

Manchester City shared spoils with relegation-battling rivals, Nottingham Forest at Etihad Stadium, turning into an obstacle in their way of hunting down Premier League leaders Arsenal.

This season, Manchester City is renowned for coming into their own turf to win. It was little surprise to see they may not have come with the style typically associated with Pep Guardiola-led teams. However, they have now won four successive Premier League games, following their 1-0 weekend victory over Leeds. How did they lose the maximum points and share points with Forest instead? 

City had the teamwork. They were impressive and dominated for the most part. Conversely, moments of individual brilliance paid off for Forests. Despite barely coming out of their own half, they found cracks in the city's defense and scored goals. 

Antoine Semenyo set the tone, scoring the opening goal midway through the first half. The attacker leaped to tap in Rayan Cherki's cross. Forest were contained for the most part of the first half. 

Things took a different turn in the second half. Ola Aina darted down the right and delivered a cross into the 18-yard box. Despite five defenders standing up against two attackers, Igor Jesus headed the aerial ball to Morgan Gibbs-White, who, in turn, back-heeled the ball into the net. 

Rodri restored the lead, nodding home a corner from Rayan Ait-Nouri. However, the short-lived as Elliot Anderson restored level terms for Forest. The midfielder did a one-two pass with Callum Hudson-Odoi and struck the ball I to the left corner of the post. 

Manchester City was ruined. Forest had one of their best comeback of the season. They had their ground, securing the level terms to the full time whistle. 

The hosts had been unbeaten for seven consecutive Premier League games. They had closely trailed Arsenal in the quest to lift the Premier League title until now. In the other hand, Forest's Vítor Pereira had been winless with the team in the previous five Premier League games, leaving his team in the 17 position with 28 points.
