AC Milan Edge Inter Milan in Tight Derby Clash
AC Milan emerged victorious, defeating Inter Milan 1-0 in a derby clash at the San Siro, following Pervis Estupiñán's first-half strike that proved the difference.
Inter threw everything against their next-door neighbours, who held their ground to claim the maximum points. Inter is well ahead of Milan in the Serie A title race; the loss closes the gap between the two teams.
Milan sealed the victory when Estupiñán finished Youssouf Fafona's cross in the 36th minute. Milan broke through the centre field, with Estupiñán bolting into scoring range for Fofana's through pass and struck a left-footed shot into the top right post.
Inter Milan pushed for an equalizer, but AC Milan's defense held firm. The visitors threatened during the break, but Mike Maignan was equal to Henrikh Mkhitaryan's effort. As the half drew to a close, AC Milan's dominance was evident, but Inter Milan's resilience kept them in the game.
