Simeone Deromedis Wins Gold in Freestyle Men's Ski Cross As Italy Claims One-two Podium Finish

 

Simeone Deromedis is the winner of the freestyle Men's Ski Cross in Milano Cortina, claiming the gold medal for the first time after five Olympic Games appearances. 

The Italian skier dominated the final of the four-man race, crossing the finish line ahead of Federico Tomasoni as Italy claimed a one-two podium finish. Federico won the silver medal on his first Olympic appearance representing Italy. He represented Italy at the 2023 FaiS Freestyle Ski World championships, winning a bronze medal in his debut. 

Meanwhile, Alex Fiva, a silver medalist from the last edition in Beijing, finished third for a bronze medal. The Swiss was trailing Simeone before he narrowly dropped behind and finished third. The two-time medallist participated in the Games for the first time at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
