Real Madrid Thrash Real Sociedad To Take La Liga Top Spot

 

Real Madrid consolidated their position in La Liga with a massive 4-1 win against Real Sociedad. taking a two-point lead over Barcelona

Despite the absence of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham, Madrid Sociedad  had a field day, pressurizing Sociedad. Vinicus  was a pain the pants for the visitors and Garcia kept them on their toes on the right wing. The lattter had a couple of chances besides scoring the opening goal. 

Madrid dominated the centre field, leaving the defense. Jon Aramburu and Jon Martins were faced with the task of holding down Vinicius' advamces in the 18-yard box. Eventually the Brazilian scored a brace from two penalties and sealed the victory for the hosts.

Madrid took the lead early into the game from Goncalo Garcia's delightful finish inside the box before Sociedad restored level terms, as Mikel Oyarzabal scored from a penalty drawn in the 21st minute. 

Later into the first half, Vinicius drew a penalty and converted the spot-kick and put Madrid back in the lead. Federico Valverde curled a left-footed shot into the top left corner to give Madrid the third goal before halftime. Soon after the break, Aramburu dropped Vinicius inside the box and the striker converted the spot-kick to give Madrid the fourth goal. 

Aramburu had a difficult day keeping tabs on Vinicius, His tackles were reckless, costing his sides two goals. Alexander-Arnold Trent was also impactful, providing the assist that led to Garcia's goal.
