Liverpool Snatch Late Victory Over Nottingham Forest

Liverpool snatched a narrow 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, courtesy of Alexis Mac Allister's injury-time strike.

The first half was hard-fought between both sides, with Nottingham Forest starting brightly and creating a few early chances. Elliot Anderson and Omari Hutchinson tested Alisson Becker, but the Liverpool goalkeeper was equal to their efforts.

Liverpool gradually took control, with Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai causing problems for the Forest defense. However, the Reds struggled to break down the visitors, with Hugo Ekitiké and Mac Allister seeing their efforts blocked or saved.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Liverpool dominating possession but struggling to create clear-cut chances. Nottingham Forest's defense was resolute, with Stefan Ortega making several crucial saves to keep the Reds at bay. The introduction of Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha added some much-needed pace to the Liverpool attack, but it was Mac Allister who ultimately broke the deadlock.

It took late into thegame before the Reds began to find penetrations deep into the six-yard box. Earlier, Mac Allister had an effort ruled out for a handball. The controversial decision over what should have been the winning goal set Liverpool back. Meanwhile, Forest were fatigued and allowed another goal-scoring moment for Mac Allister to punish them for.

Liverpool consolidated their position in sixth place with 45 points after winning back-to-back in their previous two Premier League games. Forest continue to struggle at the bottom of the table. They are in 17th position with 27 points.
