Liverpool Edge Brighton To Reach Next Round of FA Cup

Liverpool claimed an impressive 3-0 win against Brighton in a hard-fought match at Anfield and they have progressed to the next round of the FA Cup..

The Reds regained winning form against Sunderland after their home defeat to Manchester City in their previous Premier league clash. Defeating Brighton sends Liverpool to the next round of the FA Cup even though they are not amongst top contenders of the Premier League title.

Curtis Jones set Liverpool in the lead tapping in Milos Kerkez's cross and Dominik Szoboszlai doubled the lead soon after halftime. The forward darted into space for a pass from Mohamed Sallah, and in one touch, struck into the top of the goal.

Mohamed Salah sealed the victory with the third goal from a penalty. Four minutes after Szoboszlai doubled the lead, Salah darted into the box, wading off Ferdio Kadioglu's challenge before he was dropped by Pascal Grob.

It took long into the first half for Liverpool to find the breakthrough. They exploited the eery side of the pitch, but a reolute Brighton did not give in to chance. The half was almost set to be goalless after Cody Gakpo's goal was canceled for offside. However, they were more offensive in the second half, leading to more goals being scored.
