Winter Olympics: Daniela Meira Wins Gold In Freestyle Women's Skicross

Germany's Daniela Meira clinched the gold medal in freestyle women's skicross at the Winter Olympics in Milan, extending the country's medal streak to 22, and they are in sixth position in the medal table.

Meira dominated both in the semi-finals and in the final, leading the four-woman race down the slopes. However, Frances Marielle Berger Sabbatel, who qualified in second behind Meira, finished fourth in the final.

Meira finished quickest ahead of top contenders like Fanny Smith, who claimed the silver medal. The German defended her rivalry against the Swiss, whom she outpaced to clinch the bronze medal in Beijing, China.

In third position for a bronze medal was Sandra Maesluud from Sweden. She was the defending champion of the race from the last edition, during which she won the gold medal.
