Ademola Lookman Sends Atletico Madrid To Copa Del Rey Semi-final

Atletico Madrid are through to the semi-final of the Copa del Rey, massively thrashing Real Betis 4-0  as Ademola Lookman had an impressive debut to guide the side through.

With one and an assist on his debut, Ademola Lookman is off to a good start with Atletico. The game was fairly dominated by the side, barely giving their opponents the opportunities to cause a scare in their half. The goal tally would have been more with Lookman, but he forced a save on his first attempt, and his second attempt was blocked.

Betis were impressive from the start before they came crumbling down after David Hancko's goal. The left-back headed home Koke's cross, and Giuliano Simeonedoubled the lead, side-footing home Ruggeri's cutback from inside the six-yard box.

Lookman scored the third following a fast break he inspired, and released a pass to Barrios. who, in turn, played him in for the finish. Lookman rounded two defenders before slotting the ball into the net. After an hour of play, he led a counter and released a pass to Antoine Griezmann, who struck the ball into the top corner of the net.

The visitors had their best chance to pull one back blocked in front of an empty net when Thiago Amanda blocked Anthony's cutback from reaching Angel Ortiz. Atletico responded to the shock with the fifth goal from Amanda, who finished off a rebound shot.

Earlier this week, Lookman completed his transfer to Atletico in a four-and-a-half-year deal worth €35 million plus add-ons. Atletico will join Barcelona, Real Sociedad, and Bilbao in the semi-finals.
