Sinners Tops Oscar Nominees For Upcoming Ceremony
Ryan Coogler's film, Sinners, topped the Oscar nominations with 16 nods, setting a new record previously held by Titanic, All About Eve, and La La Land with 14 nods apiece. The list for this year's ceremony was announced on Thursday, and other films such as Frankenstein and Hamnet also received several nods.
Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another followed in second with 13 nods. Hamnet and Frankenstein also topped the list with several nominations. However, top-grossing film like Wicked: For Good received no nomination.
Sinners was highly successful at the box office. It closed with a domestic gross of $279.9 million, bringing its worldwide gross to $368.3 million, despite a moderate budget of $90 million.
