Chelsea Claim Hard-fought Victory Against Pafos F.C
Chelsea managed to edge past Pafos FC with a single goal, courtesy of Moisés Caicedo's header in the 78th minute.
The first half was characterized by Chelsea's attempts to break through Pafos's organized defense, but they struggled to create clear-cut chances. Pafos goalkeeper Jay Gorter was solid, keeping the side in the game, as they managed to repel most of Chelsea's advances.
Earlier in the first half, Pedro Neto's cross set Enzo Fernández up for a finish that was ruled offside. Eventually, the Blues seized a set-piece to end the deadlock after several attempts. Moisés Calceido leaped for a header that beat the goalkeeper to the net, following a corner, and Chelsea took the lead.
It was a tightly contested match, and Chelsea managed to overcome the situation. Estavao made a great impression on the game, forcing several saves, and likewise, Calceido troubled the Greeks with long-range shots.
Pafos pushed for an equalizer, but Chelsea's defense stood firm, and Robert Sánchez made crucial saves to preserve the lead. Late chances for Pafos were snatched away as Chelsea closed out the game, securing a narrow but vital win.
