Chelsea Rout Crystal Palace At Selhurst Park

Chelsea claimed a decisive 3-1 victory in a London derby against Crystal Palace, taking a leap to the top four of the Premier League table.

The Blues have maintained their winning form since losing their elimination from the EFL Cup by Arsenal. They also had a setback from their defeat in their last derby at Fulham. They have picked up the pace from their previous two games and have maintained the winning streak. They had an impressive trip to Selhurt Park, taking advantage of the hosts.

Estevao stole and darted with a loose ball from a floppy pass in the centre half. He held off a challenge before rifling home a shot from inside the box. The lead doubled soon after the halftime break following the Brazilian's assist. He played in Joao Pedro, on the right wing, and the striker rounded a defender before striking the ball into the net.

Chelsea's third goal followed from a penalty converted by Enzo Fernández. Esteban's cross to Pedro led to the handball that gave away the spot kick. Palace pulled one back from Chris Richards' header moments after Wharton was red-carded.

Palace have remained winless through eight Premier League games and have plummeted to 15th position with 28 points. Chelsea overtook Liverpool to take fourth position.

Overview

Chelsea had a dominant game, but losing Adam Wharton to a red card made a comeback effort impossible for Palace. Estevao was Chelsea's most prominent player. Besides the goal he scored, he created the assist that led to Fernandez's penalty. He had several chances to double his goal tally.

Palace had the first bite of the offensive through Mateta, who forced a save from Robert Sanchez. They soon let the game slide. Esteban and Pedro's goal followed a similar situation, exposing the flaws in their defense at left back. It was a great game for Chelsea at Selhurst Park.
