Borussia's Injury Time Goal Force Draw With Eintracht Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund had a difficult day at Eintracht Frankfurt's stadium, making a comeback twice to force a 3-3 draw with an injury-time goal from Carney Chukwuemeka

Frankfurt had lost five in the previous six games in all competitions. The hosts were swift in recovering from the deficit and took the lead, setting the stage for a victory. However, Dortmund snatched the win, and it was the outcome of the side's technical adjustments that paid off.

The first half witnessed an opening goal from Dortmund before the hosts leveled. Can Uzun scored the first goal for Dortmund before Nico Beiet converted a penalty to bring Frankfurt back into the game.

After Frankfurt wasted scoring opportunities in counterattacks after the interval, Dortmund retook the lead from a low-cut shot from Felix Nmecha, following a poor clearance from Arthur Theate. Frankfurt restored levels soon after as Arnaud Kalimuendo set off Younes Ebnoutalib for a fast break and finished off to beat on-rushing Gregor Kobel

Frankfurt took the lead as Kalimuendo darted into the box, but his loose cut back was cleared off to Mahmoud Dahoud's reach, and he struck the ball into the back of the net in the 90th+2 minute. Unfortunately for the host, Dortmund leveled up. Karim Adeyemi's header flicked the ball to Chukwuemeka for a tap-in inside the six-yard box.

Dortmund, who are second behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, settled for a draw, sharing points with their opponents. They have won only two of their previous five Bundesliga games.

Overview

Technically, the changes made by both managers proved to be effective. The substitutes were involved in the goals for both sides. Adeyemi assisted with the thrilling stoppage-time equaliser for Dortmund, and Kalimuendo was involved in both goals scored upon his introduction into the game.

Earlier in the second half, the hosts wasted their chances going on the counter. They could have seized the earlier counters to take the lead, but Kalimuendocompensated for those by facilitating Nmecha and Younes' goal.
