Barcelona Thrash Real Racing Club, Through To Copa Del Rey Quarter-finals

Barcelona secured a quarter-final slot in the Copa del Rey after facing a resilient Real Racing Club, winning 2-0 at Nou Camp Stadium

Racing were beaten, but they were not embarrassed. They were surprisingly confident to put Barcelona on their toes at Nou Camp. Hansi Flick had to make necessary substitutions, bringing in Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski to put their visitors in check. Real Racing were full of guts, but wasted good chances for offside positions.

Barcelona left it late until midway into the second half before they cracked Racing's defense. Ferran Torres' through pass broke through the midfield to find Fermin Lopez, who darted into the box, rounded Jokin Ezkieta, and finished off the ball into the empty net.

In the injury time, Raphinha latched onto the left and cut back a cross into the six-yard box for on-rushing Lamine Yamal to tap in from close range. Earlier, before the winning goal, two goals from Manez Lozano were ruled out for offside.

Racing played well and nearly forced the game to the distance. Luckily, Barcelona's adjustments paid off and Raphinha delivered the scoring opportunities needed to lead the side to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals.
