Aston Villa Thrash Red Bull Salzburg With Thrilling Comeback

Aston Villa have successfully sailed through the league phase of the UEFA Europa League, making a comeback to beat Red Bull Salzburg by 3-2 at Villa Park

The Germans took the lead from Karim Konate's effort. Samson Baidoo stole a back pass from Tyrone Mings and cut back the ball to Konate for a tap-in inside the six-yard box. Moussa Yeo doubled the lead soon after halftime, side-footing Kerim Alajbegovic's cut-back into the net as Villa continued to reel.

Morger Rogers inspired a fast break that inspired Villa's comeback. He caused a break and darted into the box to finish off Emi Buendia's return pass into the left corner of the post. Mings restored the hosts back in the game, scoring the equaliser with a header in the 76th minute, before Jamaldeen Jimoh steered home Kanan Young's through pass, following a counter.

Villa's comeback from a two-goal deficit was impressive. Salzburg wasted their best chances to put the game to bed. Mads Bidstrup and Moussa Yeo missed their best chances in front of the goal while they led. Rogers' goal was the turning point for the hosts. Hence, they pressured the Germans and achieved the necessary goals for victory.
