Alexandro Garnacho Scores Brace As Arsenal Beat Chelsea To Reach EFL Cup Final
Arsenal are through to the final of the EFL Carabao Cup, after winning 3-2 in the semi-final game against Chelsea, despite Alejandro Garnacho scoring a brace.
Coming into the game on the back of a goalless draw against Liverpool in their previous Premier League game, having to win against Chelsea restored the Gunners to winning ways. They dictated the game better than their counterparts, and they made most of the scoring opportunities they had.
Arsenal took the lead from Ben White's header before he turned in a pass from Bukayo Saka for Viktor Gyokeres to tap in from close range soon after the halftime break. Garmacho slammed home Pedro Neto's cross to narrow the lead in the 57th minute.
Martin Zubimendi extended the lead for Arsenal, finishing off a scoring advantage inside the centre box, following a combination of passes from Saka and Gyokeres. In the closing minutes, Garnacho struck for the second time, narrowing the lead to 3-2.
Reaching the final enhances the Gunners' chances of lifting their first trophy this season. They lead in the Premier League with six points ahead of the closest team, Manchester City.
