Napoli Beat AC Milan To Secure Supercoppa Semi-final

Napoli secured a 2-0 win over Milan at the King Saud University Stadium in Saudi Arabia, booking their place in the Supercoppa Italiana final.

From the kickoff in the 1st minute, Napoli asserted their control, with Elmas testing Milan's goalkeeper with a shot in the 5th minute. Milan slowly grew into the game, but Napoli's defense remained solid, and they continued to pose a threat on the counter. In the 15th minute, both teams began to crowd the midfield area, leaving little room for either team to operate. Milan's Rabiot had a chance to score in the 35th minute, but his header went wide.

Napoli took the lead through David Neres' goal in the 40th minute with a tap-in from close range, and extended their advantage with Rasmus Hojlund's superb strike in the 64th minute.

Holjund has now been involved in four goals in two matches this month. Earlier, he scored a brace against Juventus. On both occasions, his contributions led to Napoli winning the games.

Overview

Holjund established his presence in the attack, scoring the winning goal and silencing his critics. He was instrumental to both goals. Earlier, he had assisted with Scott McTominay's goal attempt before forcing a save from Mike Maignam. Eventually, he was compensated for his effort in the second half with a goal.

Meanwhile, neither Christian Pulisic nor Nkunku could make a viable impact for Milan. Lucas Modric replaced Ardon Jashari to give the midfield a boost. Still, Napoli maintained a stronghold, leading to frustration in Napoli.
