Cherki, Savio Shine As Manchester City Beat Brentford In EFL Carabao Cup

 

Manchester City have secured their place in the EFL Carabao Cup semifinal by beating Brentford 2-0 with goals from Rayan Cherki and Savio. 

Brentford were entertaining, wanting to put pressure on the Etihad Stadium hosts. The Cotizens were relaxed but determined to win, and those goals came in spectacularly, particularly from Cherki. 

Cherki drilled a 20-yard shot home, following a corner that was headed out to his reach. Savio made it two-nil with a stroke of luck. The Brazilian striker darted down the left, seizing an individual effort, he attempted a shot that deflected off Kristoffer Ajer and landed in the net. 

It was a convenient victory for Manchester City, despite their opponents occasionally attempting shots at their goal.  Manchester City will face West Ham in their next match in the Premier League.
