Bruno Fernandez Leads As Manchester United Beat Wolves

Manchester United secured a comfortable 4-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a brace and Mason Mount netting a goal.

Last Week, the Ruben Amorim-led side suffered a disappointing 1-1 draw against West Ham, setting them back on the climb up the Premier League table. However, with this victory, they have secured their place in the top six, tying on points with Chelsea, who are fifth.

United dominated the game, creating numerous chances and taking the lead through Bruno Fernandes' 25th-minute strike. Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled one back just before halftime, but United responded with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount in the second half.

Wolves' defeat was sealed after a penalty was awarded in the 80th. Fernandes took the spot-kick and added a fourth goal.

United have now remained unbeaten in three consecutive Premier League games. As for Wolves, the defeat further compounded their situation, remaining beneath the safe zone at the bottom of the table

Overview

Though trailing, Wolves were better off in the first half than they were after the interval. United were a little physical, earning Mbeumo a warning card. Mason Mount was effective, delivering the balls into the attack while Wolves kept the deficit narrow.

Wolves were a little careless. Earlier, they dodged a penalty for a handball, which the referee overlooked. The scoreline would have been different. However, it changed in the second half. United completely took down their opponents, wrapping it up with Fernandez's penalty. The Portuguese forward remains an important figure in United's squad. Likewise, Amad Diallo has cemented his role on the right wing.
